Democratic Party Endorses Linda Barnfather For County Commissioner

Port Angeles -- The Clallam County Democratic Party has formally endorsed Linda Barnfather of Sequim, legislative assistant to Democratic state representative Kevin Van De Wege, for the Clallam County Commissioner seat in District 1 being vacated by Steve Tharinger of Sequim. Tharinger, who is a Sequim Democrat who also serves as a state representative representing the 24th legislative district, will not be running for reelection after three terms as county commissioner and will be concentrating on his work in Olympia representing Clallam County, Jefferson County, and part of Grays Harbor County.

"I am truly appreciative that I have won the endorsement of the Clallam County Democratic Party," said Barnfather. "I value their support and will continue to work hard to win this race and move forward with strong Democratic values as my foundation."

"In addition to her experience, good judgment, and deep ties to this community, what separates Linda from her opponent is her extensive experience and success in the private sector as a small business owner and property manager," said Steve Tharinger. "She will make a great county commissioner precisely because she knows both how government runs and how the real world works. She's got the comprehensive experience necessary to be a real community leader."
